FAMILY TREE WITH MISSING LETTERS

PREPARATION
  • prepare an illustration of the family tree (you can draw it on the board,too),
  • prepare letters on the paper (the number of letters depends on how many family members you are going to revise during this activity).

THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • place the poster with the family tree on the board,
  • place the cards with the alphabet letters on the table,
  • one person comes to the table and takes one card from it, then he/she places the card in the missing space on the family tree,
  • the game finishes when all family members words will be created with alphabet letters.

TO BE

TO BE - MEMORY GAME


PREPARATION
  • Print and cut all the cards from the file
  • You can use cards prepared by children from Mosina (pdf).

THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • Place all the cards with personal pronouns on the board with their names down to the board in one column. Do the same with  the affirmative or negative forms of the verb to be in the second column.

  • Children come to the board and choose two cards (one from the first column and the second one with the other one), if they match the pronoun with a proper form of the verb to be, they get a point for the team. If not, they put these cards on the same place with their names down to the board.

  • The team which has the most points wins the game.

                TO BE - ON THE PLATE






PREPARATION
  • prepare a paper plate, divide it into eight pieces. Write the personal pronouns (I, you, he,she,it,we,you,they) on each piece of the paper,
  • prepare eight clothes pegs with positive forms of the veb ,,to be'' (am,is,are)

THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • Two players can play this game. The third person is referee and he or she controls the players' answers and counts the points.
  • The players should put the plate in the middle of the desk. 
  • The clothes pegs must be placed on the desk in such a way that students will not see the positive forms of the verb ,,to be''.
  • One player chooses the clothes peg and he or she says this form aloud and puts the clip on the proper part of the plate. The referee checks if it is a correct answer, if yes, the person gets a point, if not, the clip must be put back on  the table and the player doesn't get a point. Then, the second player does the same as the first one. 
  • The game finishes when all clothes pegas are put on the plate and the winner is player who has more points.

Days of the week - game



DAYS OF THE WEEK - SCRAMBLED LETTERS

PREPARATION
  • prepare small cards with alphabet letters you will need them to create the names of  days of the week (MONDAY / TUESDAY / WEDNESDAY / THURSDAY / FRIDAY / SATURDAY / SUNDAY)                                                
THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • put all pieces of the paper with alphabet letters facing their names down
  • each player chooses one piece of paper and during the whole game he/she tries to create the names of days of the week. 
  • the winner is the person who creates the most days of the week

PREPARATION

Prepare cards with pictures and names of the colours (the number of cards depends on you)

You can use cards prepared by children from Mosina (pdf). Print them and cut them out.

THE RULES OF THE GAME
Mix up the cards.
Lay them in rows, face down.
Turn over any two cards.
If the two cards match, keep them.
If they don't match, turn them back over.
Remember what was on each card and where it was. Watch and remeber during the other player's turn.
The game is over when all the cards have been matched.
The players with the most matches wins.

 PREPARATION
  •  You need paper glasses and crayons.

THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • You turn paint inside of the glasses with crayons.
  • You turn upside down the glasses by putting the glasses in a row.
  • And you look under glasses; you tell the colour you see.
  • If you know the colour, you get the one point, or who is the faster, he/she is winner.

PREPARATION
  • prepare a piece of paper,
  • draw as many colours as you know on the paper,
  • prepare small cards with the names of the colours (the same which you draw on the paper)
THE RULES OF THE GAME
  • put the piece of paper with colours on the desk and small cards put with their names  down to the desk
  • one player chooses the small card with the name of the colour and tries to match it with its picture
  •  The game is over when all small cards will be placed on the pictures

DAYS OF THE WEEK - GAME

,,Days of the week on the plate''

PREPARATION
You must prepare a paper plate, If you want to, you can paint it or leave white.
The plate must be divided into seven parts because we have seven days of the week.
Each part of the plate must be signed with the names of days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
You will also need seven clips (they can be plastic or wooden ones). Write numbers from one to seven on the clips.
THE RULES OF THE GAME
Two players can play this game. The third person is the referee and he or she controls the players' answers and counts points.

The clips must be placed on the desk in such a way that students will not see the numbers on these clips.
One player chooses the clip and he or she says the number aloud and puts the clip on the proper part of the plate. The referee checks if it is correct answers, if yes, the person gets point, if not, the clip must be put back on the table and the player doesn't get a point.Then, the second player does the same as the first player.
The game finishes when all clips are put on the plate and the winner is player who has more points. 



Days of the week - wooden sticks

Preparation

  • You need wooden sticks(seven pieces)
  • You need crayons and a piece of paper
  • Write the names of the week on wooden sticks and mix them.

The rules of the game


  • Two players (or two groups) can play this game. The third person is the referee.
  • You can play game in two ways. First, you can choose one number and one day matching together accordingly. Second, you can mix numbers and days. You can arrange days and numbers in a row. Who is the faster, they are the winner.

The project's logos


The project ,,Children in action'' started in September. Children from schools in Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Turkey has worked on the creation of  project's logos since the beginning of September. I would like to present all logos, which were created by the learners.

,,CHILDREN IN ACTION’’
CREATING GAMES AND FUN ACTIVITIES FOR LEARNING ENGLISH
The project ,,Children in action’’  is addressed to primary school kids. It includes linguistic and creative aspects. It links such subjects as art, ICT, design and technology, music, writing and English as a foreign language. This project focuses mainly on English in primary schools. The main idea of the project is to make children active in their own process of learning English and engage them in creating new, interesting games and fun activities which will help them during studying new things. It is important that in this project, children are the people who are going to teach other kids some new words through games and educational aids, teachers will only help them. 
Schools from Poland, Croatia, Turkey and the Czech Republic take part in this project. Zespół Szkół in Mosina is the coordinator of the project.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT:
a) to encourage children to love English more,
b) to own ideas with other children from the project,
c) to improve learners’ language, artistic and teamwork skills,
d) to motivate students to develop their own language skills,
e) to make learners aware of the huge role of games and fun activities in the process of learning,
f) to share the knowledge between children – games’ exchange, the creation of the book with educational materials made by children,
g) to improve students’ skills related to TIK tools in education,
h) to spend the time in a creative and interesting way.

The project starts in September and finishes in June.
It will be divided into several parts. Each month children will be responsible for creating new games and activities. The project will consist of :
- posting the instructions for English games and materials, which teachers use in teaching children  and the photo gallery of the lessons with the use of the above games and activities, which learners create themselves,
- the creation of children's games, activities  and presenting them together on the blog;
- the creation of the book with all children’s games and activities that partners of the project would use during their lessons;
The detailed schedule of the project:
  1. September – children introduce themselves schools and countries to other participants of the project (the way you do it, depends only on your choice) . All participants create together the logo of the project.
  2. October – children’s task is to prepare at least two games. The topics are: colours, numbers, days of the week, months (choose two topics).
  3. November – children prepare at least two games or other activities related to knowledge of the family members words or verb ,,be’’.
  4. December – children prepare at least two games or other activities related to the topic of Christmas and knowledge of verb ,,have got’’.
  5. January – children prepare at least two games or other activities related to the topic of school subjects and school objects which can be found in the classroom.
  6. February – children’s task is to create two games (including one board game). The topics are : pets and wild animals, .
  7. March – children prepare at least two games or other materials related to the topic of activities, hobbies and the verb ,,can’’.
  8. April – children’s task is to create at least two games. The topics are : everyday activities, fruit, vegetables, food, drinks (choose two topics).
  9. May – children prepare at least two games or other materials related to the knowledge of schools and countries from which partners of the project come from.
  10.  June -All participants prepare an exhibition about the project ,,Children in action’’ – creating games and fun activities for learning English.  Each school organizes also ,,English Game Day’’ for other students from different classes.

Expected results:
